CUHK holds fourth Entrepreneur Day

The Chinese University of Hong Kong last week held its fourth CUHK Entrepreneur day, a large-scale event aimed at allowing  entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative products.

CUHK Entrepreneur Day 2018 included exhibitions showcasing more than 50 start-up projects, as well as talks, seminars and a newly launched innovation demo area.



The demo area showcased innovations in technologies including facial recognition, mobile payment, augmented and virtual reality, innovative medical devices, as well as mobile apps and games.

Meanwhile the exhibition covered CUHK startup projects covering biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, fintech, big data, mobile app development, creative marketing, education and the arts.

The event also encompassed the semi-final of the Second CUHK Entrepreneurship Competition, which featured five teams competing for a chance to sign a memorandum of understanding with investors.

During a welcoming speech, CUHK pro vice chancellor and vice president professor Dennis Ng expressed his appreciation of this alumni signature event on entrepreneurship for continually serving as an informative exchange platform for entrepreneurs from the circle of CUHK alumni.

He also indicated that CUHK is prioritizing entrepreneurship and innovation in campus, with the recent introduction of a university-wide minor program in entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as a new four-year undergraduate program covering financial technology.
