2018 Suzuki Burgman Street India Launch Highlights: Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Burgman Street in the country. The Burgman is the only maxi scooter on sale here. Suzuki Burgman Street 125 was unveiled for the first time during the 2018 Auto Expo in February this year. The Burgman Street is one of the three new vehicle launches Suzuki Motorcycle India has promised for this year. Bookings for the new maxi scooter had been opened at select dealerships last month for a token amount of Rs 5000. While the Burgman is sold in several versions around the world, with engine displacements ranging from 125-600cc, the one India is likely to carry the same engine that powers Suzuki Access 125.



Suzuki Burgman Street 125 will be the only maxi scooter on sale in India once launched. Another such example was the Kinetic Blaze that was launched into n India back in 2007 but was soon discontinued owing to poor sales. In very simple words, a maxi scooter has more focus on touring and is backed by features to support the same.

Suzuki Burgman Street will also be exported to international markets as well. While the Japanese company first aims to cater to the domestic demand, the Burgman Street will be exported to over 30 countries in South East Asia and Latin America.

Burgman Street comes with a flexible foot position for reducing riding fatigue. The fully digital instrument cluster displays a digital clock, fuel gauge, oil change indicator and a dual trip meter. It comes with a body mounted windscreen that has been adopted from the international Burgman series.

All new Suzuki Burgman Street is powered by a 125cc four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder SOHC 2-valve BS-IV engine that produces 8.5 hp at 7000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. It also features SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) for better fuel efficiency.

The Burgman Street 125 comes with two luggage hooks, 21.5L under seat storage, 2L glove box and rack for storage, DC socket for mobike phone charging. It will come in three colours – Glass Sparkle Black, Pearl Mirage White and Mettalic Matt Fibroin Gray.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125 features a full LED headlamp, fully digital instrument cluster, LED tail lamp, shutter key with central seat lock and front disc with combi brake system. It also boasts of a substantially large luggage carrying capacity.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125 has been launched in India at Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Substantially higher than its rivals, for example, Honda Grazia at Rs 60,000 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially rolled out the Burgman Street 125.

Suzuki Motorcycle India aims for 1 million unit sales by 2020. Data suggests that there has been seen a growth pattern in sales of scooters and motorcycle above 150cc displacement engines. Suzuki says it has been playing in the two segments and will continue to do so.

Suzuki Motorcycle India plans to expand its dealership network to over 1200 touch points in the financial year 2018-19. With a better dealer network, Suzuki can expect a stronger hold in the Indian two-wheeler market.

Select dealerships had started accepting bookings for Suzuki’s new maxi scooter, Burgman Street 125, last month for a token amount of Rs 5000. The Burgman 125 is expected to be priced about Rs 5,000 more than the Suzuki Access 125.

2018 Suzuki Burgman Street 125 will come equipped with combined braking system (CBS). The braking system optimises braking power at both ends. Even when the rider only pulls the rear brake lever, the system also applies the front brake, hence ensuring heightened safety.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd’s manufacturing plant in Gurugram (Haryana) has an annual capacity of 5,40,000 units. Total land area of the facility at Gurugram is 37 acres out of which the present plant is constructed in an area of 10 acres of land. The remaining area is left for land development and future expansion.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is likely to come equipped with several comfort and convenience fitments. Compared to its 125cc sibling – Access 125, Suzuki Burgman 125 is expected to be more feature loaded. It is expected to come with a full LED lamps both front and back.

When launched in India, Suzuki Burgman will compete with the likes of Honda Grazia and TVS Ntorq 125. While the Burgman is sold in several engine displacement options in the international markets, the Indian spec scooter will only come with one engine option of a 125cc unit.
