QFA to Support Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim in AFC Elections

Doha: Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced on Thursday that it would support Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al Khalifa for a new term in AFC Presidency during the General Assembly of the Continental Federation to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on April 6.
QFA Vice-President Saud Abdulaziz al Muhannadi and the candidate for the AFC elections, said in a press statement that QFA’s position has been consistent and supportive to Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al Khalifa since he became President of the AFC, adding that he is confident that Sheikh Salman lead the Asian federation in the best way. Al Muhannadi welcomed the visit of Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa to Qatar, adding that this visit is in harmony with the spirit of solidarity among the pillars of the Asian football system under the leadership of Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
For his part, the AFC President expressed his thanks and appreciation to the support of Qatar Football Association under the chairmanship of HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, stressing that this support reflects the spirit of unity among the Asian football associations.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa praised the efforts of Saud Al Muhannadi in serving the Asian football and appreciated his keenness to unify Asian football associations and wished him success. (QNA)
