Coronavirus, Libya top agenda in Conte-bin Zayed talks

The growing coronavirus global health emergency and war-torn Libya were the focus of a phone conversation on Wednesday between Italy’s premier Giuseppe Conte and Abu Dhabi’s crown prince Mohammed bin Zayed, Conte’s office said in a statement.



Italy is the country outside China with the highest of confirmed coronavirus patients who have died – 107 – our of 2,706 cases. The outbreak has now spread to 20 regions although most cases are still concentrated in the north, where all the coronavirus deaths have occurred.

The Italian government on Wednesday ordered a raft of drastic measures in a bid to contain the rapidly spreading coronavirus including the immediate closure of all schools and universities until 15 March.

The UEA has reported 21 cases of the respiratory disease, according to a United Nations World Health Organisation bulletin issued on Tuesday.
