Man held for selling fake train token to migrant workers

Habibganj police have nabbed a 32-year-old man involved in selling fake token for travelling by train to Bihar by victims at Habibganj railway station on Tuesday; accused took Rs 1000 for providing a token.  

According to the police, victim Avinash Kumar lodged a complaint after he found that he along with his two friends were duped by the accused Rajesh Rai in the name of travelling in train to Bihar. A complaint was filed regarding the fraud and accused was traced and nabbed.



The victim is resident of Bihar and completed B.E from BITS College and as he was broke and college and coaching centers were closed he wanted to return home.In his complaint victim stated at around 9 in the morning on Tuesday he long with his friends Vishal Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar reached Habibganj railway station where they meet Rajesh Rai who was in PPE kit and introduced himself as senior officer in railways and had token worth Rs 1000 each which could provide easy entry in the train to Bihar and after they got assured they provided the money.

Later the accused was spotted at the station till 2.30pm but when the train came they were not allowed to board and they found that no senior officer was present by the name of Rajesh Rai.

The victims tried to contact on the mobile number 8085732409 which was found switched off and later lodged complaint with police.After the confirmation the police have registered a case under section 420 of the IPC and nabbed the accused. The accused hailed from Betul and lives in Rachna Nagar. Victims have revealed that the accused had also sold the fake token to other passengers as well.
