the blockchain project looking to combine real estate assets with crypto

The tokenization of art, game, and other assets starting to gain popularity in the cryptocurrency market, but real estate tokenization is not far behind.

Blockchain technology has recently been adopted and adapted for use by the commercial real estate (CRE) industry, as per a report by consulting firm Deloitte. CRE executives are finding that blockchain-based smart contracts can play a much larger role in their industry.

Commercial real estate constitutes a significant portion of world economic asset and transaction activity. According to an MSCI report, the size of the professionally managed global real estate investment market increased from $7.4 trillion in 2016 to $8.5 trillion in 2017.

However, the real estate market of today has inherent transactional friction and opacity; a system ripe for exploitation by middlemen and illicit actors.

This is where Breezecoin, a blockchain-based global real estate investment steps in, eliminating the middlemen and allowing investors to fund noteworthy projects from anywhere in the world.

A cryptocurrency targeting real estate tokenization

Breezecoin (BRZE) is a Global Real Estate investment project headed by Harald Kendzia and a bunch of other team members who have varying levels of numerous experiences in the blockchain, real estate, and finance sector.

As per its website, Breezecoin is built on the Ethereum blockchain and complies with the ERC20 token standards. The company harnesses its tech on Ethereum to automate the real estate transaction process while fighting fraud and eliminating downtime censorship.

There’s also a real-world application already present. The BRZE token, says Breezecoin, has its underlying value tied to real estate projects and products listed on the platform — It serves as a settlement entity for all projects under the custody of Breeze de Mar, a real estate company domiciled in the US.

Invest in real estate globally

What’s Breeze de Mar you ask? An international real estate and resort company that has an experience of over 60 years and seeks to transform the world’s most valuable locations” into accessible and flourishing living spots. It is a successor of the Akpinar Group.

As per its site, Breeze de Mar has resorts and real estate under development all over the world. It has invested over $1 billion in projects globally and has over 20 completed projects.

Examples include developers in Las Vegas, the massively popular tourist destination in the United States that boasts millions of tourists each year, Turkish capital Istanbul, and Germany’s Kaiser Mountains.

And with Breezecoin, interested users can now even own a part of these destinations— powered by the security of Ethereum smart contracts.

Investors are given the opportunity to make as little as 20% down-payment in the purchase of any property under the Breezecoin real estate resort market with a well affordable interest rate.

The Breezecoin tokenomics

According to its whitepaper, all interest earned from mortgage papers will be distributed to token holders on a percentage average holding basis. This serves as a good passive income to supporters of the project and the community at large.

In a blog post, the firm said that Breezecoin has two main use cases: the Staking Packages and investing in all Breeze de Mar resorts.

Users can earn by locking away Breezecoin for a certain period of time (of 6 months), investors will get a guaranteed monthly interest (up to 8%, depending on the Package).

Another user case is that Breezecoin can also be used to purchase Breeze de Mar properties and timeshares. “We offer up to a 20% discount for customers who settle the payment with Breezecoin,” the firm notes

The company is currently exploring other regions that could serve as a top destination for tourism, such as Hawaii and the Bahamas. Growth is expected to rise even further as the global real estate market continues to expand, with newer projects and real estate development.

Meanwhile, such fundamental factors have led to the growth of the BRZE token. As per CryptoSlate data, BRZE trades at $0.35 at press time and had hit an all-time high of $1.6 in May 2020.
