Emirates News Agency – Rashid bin Humaid: The success of organizing the Club World Cup is a great motivation for holding more international tournaments in the UAE

ABU DHABI, 13th February / WAM/ Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Emirates Football Association and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the FIFA Club World Cup “UAE 2021”, praised the success achieved by the UAE hosting the 18th edition of the tournament, which was closed yesterday evening, with the coronation of a team Chelsea champion for the first time in its history.



Chelsea’s crowning of the Club World Cup came after beating Brazil’s Palmeiras 2-1 during the meeting, which was held at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid said in statements after the winning of the Club World Cup that the success that has been achieved indicates the efficiency of the UAE and the capital Abu Dhabi in organizing the largest and most important sporting events and events.

The President of the Emirates Football Association said: “We dedicate this success to our wise leadership and to everyone who contributed to achieving this success from the various concerned departments that contributed to this remarkable dazzle.”

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stressed that the UAE has harnessed all its capabilities to show the tournament in this distinctive way, which prompts it to organize more international tournaments.

The President of the Emirates Football Association continued, “It was agreed with the International and Asian Football Associations to organize regional and international tournaments in the UAE during the coming period. We are working on this thanks to the support of all institutions in the country that have a major role in the success and development of this sport in the country and the region.” .

He stressed that the participation of 3 Arab teams in the current edition of the tournament and the arrival of two Arab teams to the semi-finals confirm the strong competition from the big Arab clubs with a fan base, praising at the same time the Chelsea team, which won the championship title.
