Personalise your card for good with Revolut SG’s new SPCA and SOSD campaign

Fintech company Revolut Singapore has partnered with animal welfare charities Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and SOSD to extend its card personalisation service. It now aims to target all customers with part of the proceeds being donated to charities.

Previously only available to customers on paid plans, from now until 4 November 2023, all Revolut Singapore customers will have the opportunity to design their own card with text, emojis and freehand sketches. Out of the SG$9.99 fee that customers pay for the service, SG$2.00 will be split evenly between SPCA and SOSD.

“By ordering their very own personalised card, customers can play an important role in supporting these charities,” said Ashley Thomas, head of strategy and operations at Revolut Singapore.

“They can also make additional donations through our in-app Donations platform, enabling them to give back to the community and support causes they care about in a simple and effective way,” she added.

Revolut Singapore will also be holding a social media giveaway as part of the campaign. To participate, customers must upload a photo or story of their personalised card on Instagram with the hashtag #MyPawsomeRevolut and tag @revolutapp, @spcasingapore and @sosdsingapore. Five of the most creative designs will win prizes such as a six-month free Revolut Metal membership, an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of SPCA and an SOSD t-shirt.

“Companies like Revolut exemplify the essence of social consciousness by ingeniously crafting pathways that not only align with their goals but also rally more individuals to champion impactful causes,” added Aarthi Sankar, executive director at SPCA.

Sankar also explained, “Through their innovative approach, they bridge the gap between commerce and compassion, cultivating a community of individuals who are not only customers but also compassionate advocates.”

To raise awareness for the campaign, performance marketing across Facebook, Instagram and Google Ads will be used in addition to the company’s in-app and email marketing, according to a representative from Revolut Singapore.

The campaign is an extension of Revolut’s Donations platform that allows customers to donate to a selection of charities on the app through a one-off payment, rounding up their spare change or by setting up a recurring donation.

“All proceeds from the donations will be dedicated to SOSD, ensuring that it benefits the dogs in need. We are grateful for this collaboration and the chance to improve the lives of our street dogs,” said Magdalene Eng, head of outreach and fundraising at SOSD.

Revolut Singapore is no stranger to utilising its platform to spread social good as it collaborated with local non-profit LGBTQ+ organisation Oogachaga for pride this year. The companies came together to launch a special-edition pride-themed card called the Diversity Card.

As part of the initiative, consumers can donate a minimum of SG$10 to Oogachacha to obtain a limited-edition card that will feature the colours of the pride flag. Consumers can also opt to set up recurring donations should they wish with the card.
